Technology start-up Immertia has unveiled its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Hologram Concierge concept that turns ordinary product packaging into an interactive experience for customers.

The technology combines the packaging with an intelligent holographic assistant to offer a futuristic way for customers to interact with products.

The Hologram Concierge activates a realistic, three-dimensional (3d) holographic assistant when a customer scans the product packaging with their smartphone camera.

Immertia said that the holographic assistant seems to generate from within the product itself.

Powered by augmented reality (AR), the holographic assistant takes centre stage and replaces the front panel and contents of the package to provide the consumer with a visually immersive experience.

According to the start-up, the Hologram Concierge can offer detailed information about the brand and the product in the interaction. It is suitable for manufacturers and innovators in the packaging sector.

The concept is said to be flexible in appearance as it dynamically moves and makes gestures, thus producing a sense of realism and engagement for the consumers.

The environment around the product is also changed with clickable virtual links and 3d content appears to float in mid-air.

Immertia managing director Dave Chaffey said: “This technology will revolutionise how the packaging industry engages with consumers, offering interactive and immersive experiences that are bound to capture attention.

“The Hologram Concierge allows packaging manufacturers to introduce an additional layer of interaction, enabling brands to share more information, showcase complementary products, and offer engaging content. It’s a powerful way to increase customer engagement and drive sales.

“The Hologram Concierge has the potential to transform the way packaging manufacturers think about product and information delivery. It’s a new frontier for brand engagement and consumer interaction.”

The company is currently merging two prototype technologies to produce a human concierge that provides real-time responses to inquiries about products.

This advancement in content streaming from product manufacturers is expected to open a new era of conversational commerce while boosting trust and credibility with customers, the technology start-up added.

Currently, Immertia is introducing the technology to packaging manufacturers, marketing agencies, and consumer goods brands.
