Flexibility plus improved sealing quality and more robust, modular construction are said to be the most important benefits of Ilapack’s new PC controlled Vegatronic 2000 vertical form, fill, seal machine.
The 2000 is capable of producing a range of pack types including pillow, block bottom and Dot packs,and three-sided sachets.
High quality sealing is also claimed with a redesigned sealing jaw which has a higher closing torque and an improved jaw drive for more precise sealing.
New features included as standard are nip rollers with load cell for film tension control, a new design of film drive mechanism and a 100 program memory with fault diagnostic software.
The modular construction with an inclined frame is said to improve hygiene standards and access to the sealing mechanism for easier maintenance.
The company says product changeovers are quick and easy to carry out with a pod-mounted colour touch screen and the machine incorporates the usual features such as pre-programmable size changes and no-fill-no-bag facilities.
It caters for up to 90 packs/min between in sizes between 60 and 370mm in width and up to 800mm in length using a variety of heat-sealable and PE films.
