Gpack Group’s Vincenzo Leara recommended to conduct test to select packaging material for Carolina Herrera fragrance range.

Initially, test runs have been carried with a single-ply paperboard for the new range. Later, multi-ply Invercote from Iggesund Paperboard was also tested and confirmed as the suitable material to be used as packaging for new fragrance range.

The packaging series for Good Girl fragrance range needed 12 different production stages, including gold foil stamping, embossing, partial flockage, foil stamping on flockage, negative embossing and die cutting.

Vincenzo said: “In a multi-stage production process, the dimensional stability is decisive – if the material moves even a fraction, you can have a misregister late in the process. Then you lose everything, both the material and all the work you’ve done.”

Suitable for premium packaging and graphics, Invercote is developed by using pure virgin fibre collected from managed forests.

Invercote is a solid bleached board (SBB) that can be used by brand owners to provide decorative print for luxurious appeal of the product.

This board can be used in applications, including wine and spirits, perfume and cosmetics, toiletries, pharmaceuticals, brochures and confectionery.

Invercote portfolio includes Invercote G that comes with two different surfaces and suitable for multiple consumer product applications.

Invercote Creato comes with double coating and suitable for graphical product applications.

Invercote Duo is suitable for display purposes and various types of rigid, exclusive and gift packs. Invercote Albato features triple coated print side and suitable for luxury packaging applications.

Barcelona-based fashion and fragrance business Puig is the owner of Carolina Herrera fragrance brand.

Puig said: “Overall we select our foldings brands as prescriptors, in cooperation with our printing partners, but we make the final decisions on which materials to use.”

Earlier known as Cartotecnica Goldprint, Gpack Group operates four production facilities in Italy, one each in Poland and France.
