Hero Group, a wholesale retail distributor of groceries and related products, has installed a new Sacmi modular jar labeler at its facility in Spain.

The company, which has manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, Egypt and Spain, invested in the new Sacmi labeler to label its vast product range.

The investment is a part of Hero Group’s effort to maximize production line performance and achieve total quality on labeled products.

Sacmi’s machine is installed with special vision system, which is designed to automatically position the jar before label application. The labelling vision system unit can perform automatic container orientation and subsequent label checks.

The machine features plug & play technology and is capable of operating across multiple labeling technologies, Sacmi said.

Sacmi plug&play technology enables easier size changeover tasks while facilitating maintenance by allowing easy access to essential parts. It also allows work to be carried out on individual modules without interrupting production.

The machine, which has output rates in the order of 24,000 applications an hour, also comprises an electronic glass container positioning system which is designed to ensure correct in-machine orientation.

The self-adhesive labeling stations of the machine helps operators to perform non-stop application of front, rear and wrap-around labels, and the special quality seal between label and lid.

Sacmi also integrated cold glue labeling modules on the machine to allow application of pre-cut labels on the front and back of the container, for users.

Recently, Sacmi announced its plan to exhibit its form-fill-seal (FFS) horizontal packaging solutions for the food industry at this year’s Anuga FoodTec event in Germany.

The firm plans to showcase FFS horizontal packagers in a wide range of configurations for the customers of food industry at the event, to be held from 20-23 March in Cologne.

Sacmi is engaged in the manufacturing of machines and complete plants for the ceramic tile, beverage, packaging, quality control process, and plastics industries.
