German chemical and consumer goods company Henkel has announced the opening of its new Technology Centre in Bridgewater, New Jersey, US.

The 70,000ft² centre will serve as an interactive destination for Henkel’s strategic partners and customers.

The Bridgewater facility displays the company’s entire technology portfolio, including adhesives, sealants, functional coatings, and speciality materials.

According to Henkel, it will also create an environment for collaboration with customers from around 800 industry sectors to develop new solutions.

The technology centre has an interactive infinity room to display innovative solutions developed by Henkel Adhesives Technologies.

The chemical company said that the site will feature programmes like sustainable trends in palletising, sustainable packaging for consumer goods and smart health solutions with printed electronics for diapers and personal health monitoring.

It will also feature digital solutions for the maintenance, repair and operation of manufacturing machines and advances in engineered wood building applications as well.

Henkel Adhesive Technologies innovation and new business development vice president Michael Todd said: “The Technology Centre Bridgewater is designed to encourage collaboration across the value chain.

“We have successfully started this concept with the opening of our Inspiration Centre Düsseldorf last year and aim to adapt and leverage in core markets for our Adhesive Technologies business, such as North America as well.”

Henkel Adhesives Technologies currently has around 200 employees at the Bridgewater site in the US.

Additionally, the site is anticipated to support packaging and labelling, tissue and towel, flexible packaging, paper lamination, hygiene, EPIX packaging, pressure-sensitive tapes, medical and labels, engineered wood, graphics and furniture and construction markets.
