The funds managed by Harvest Partners, along with management, has acquired speciality packaging solutions provider Fortis Solutions Group from Main Post Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Virginia Beach, Fortis is a converter of pressure-sensitive labels that serves customers in the food and beverage, health and beauty, retail, agricultural chemical, and nutraceutical end markets.

Fortis’ product portfolio includes pressure-sensitive and shrink sleeve labels, multi-ply coupon and flexible packaging printing, extended booklet printing, pouches, folding cartons, label applicators and variable data printing.

With a range of flexographic and digital printing capabilities, the company operates 15 manufacturing and sales offices across the US. It employs around 950 people across its sites.

Fortis’ management team, led by founder and CEO John Wynne, will continue to manage Fortis and remain important owners of the business besides Harvest.

Since 2014, Fortis has completed 13 acquisitions with the main focus on pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeve, and flexible packaging markets.

BMO Capital Markets acted as a financial advisor, while Morrison & Foerster served as legal advisor to Fortis and Main Post on the transaction. Ropes & Gray acted as legal advisor to Harvest Partners.

As part of the deal, Michael DeFlorio, James Mitchel, and Andrew Hudelson from Harvest Partners as the board of directors of Fortis.

Recently, Fortis acquired Quality Tape and Label that offers digital shrink sleeves, flexible packaging and pressure-sensitive labels to craft beer, nutraceutical, food and health and beauty end-markets.
