The fully-enclosed facility, which has been developed in cooperation with Greif’s industrial packaging partner Tholu, is intended to offer latest IBC technologies to its customers, with a specific focus on the food industry.

Located adjacent to Tholu’s IBC reconditioning site, the facility comprises a warehouse and production plant with two IBC lines. It is spread over an area of 90,000m2 in total.

Additionally, the facility features clean room blow moulding capabilities that comply with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and ISO 22000-4 standards.

Greif Europe, the Middle East and Africa IBC and plastic product manager Luca Bettoni said: “We are extremely excited about this new venture which marks another step in our roadmap to become the world’s best performing customer service company in industrial packaging.

“Located in the heart of the Netherlands with excellent transport links means we are ideally placed to serve customers in the Benelux region, and allows us to offer them our full portfolio of GCUBE IBC solutions.”

Greif, which earlier launched IBC facility in Mendig, Germany, plans to make investments in new facilities across EMEA over the next few years, including Russia in 2019.

The firm said in a statement: “Greif’s GCUBE intermediate bulk container heralds the new generation of IBCs – efficient, safe and rugged, ideal for shipping bulk quantities of hazardous and non-hazardous products.”

At present, Greif operates nine IBC facilities located across EMEA as well as 13 globally.

Greif’s product categories comprises steel, plastic, fibre, flexible, corrugated, and reconditioned containers, intermediate bulk containers, containerboard and packaging accessories.

It also provides filling, packaging and industrial packaging reconditioning services for a wide range of industries.
