Italian slitter rewinder manufacturer Ghezzi & Annoni has invested over €5M in a new factory. Built on a greenfield site in Garbagnate Milanese, less than 3km from the existing plant in Lainate, which it will replace, the new operation will open in February. Its extensive, 24,000m2 production facilities should cut delivery times and increase the number of machines produced per year.
Although the existing plant can build up to 45 automatic machines per year, G&A says demand for slitters, log rewinders and coaters is outstripping capacity. The company recently moved production of its batch built TG semi automatic machines to a dedicated facility in Angerra, and opened another plant in Vimercate for production of the coaters.
