The new Acuity LED 1600R provides customers a lower cost alternative to the Acuity LED 1600 II hybrid press that recently achieved its 1,000th worldwide install.

Featuring Fujifilm Dimatix’s Q-Class printheads, the new roll-to-roll press offers four color channels. It is also provided with the option of a modular upgrade in the field up to seven colors.

Fujifilm’s new press also includes a high density mode that can handle heat-sensitive roll media while printing vibrant displays, making it suitable for backlit and window applications.

The company is planning to make the new system available to the customers in June.

Similar to the Acuity LED 1600 II, the new Acuity LED 1600R roll-to-roll press also provides productivity of up to 355 ft² per hour.

Fujifilm North America graphic systems division associate marketing manager Kaz Kudo said: “The new Acuity LED 1600R is a great investment opportunity for print service providers looking to produce high quality, large format graphic displays.

“This dedicated roll-to-roll press will be exhibited this fall in the Fujifilm booth at SGIA Expo 2018 in Las Vegas.”

The new press, which is provided with advanced LED UV lamps, produces low levels of heat, as well as requires lower ink volumes and less power.

Fujifilm will also unveil new Uvijet RL ink range, which is available in CMYK and CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta. It is also provided with a modular upgrade option to include white.

Picoliter drop sizes range from 10 to 30, which supports smooth tonal ranges, fine text and solid colors.

Fujifilm Specialty Ink Systems produces Uvijet RL range, which can be combined with the Acuity LED 1600R’s patented LED curing system and Fujifilm Dimatix printheads for better near-photographic print quality with enhanced speed.
