Ishida Europe believes it is set to revolutionise fresh food weighing with a machine that can handle sticky products that previously had to be weighed and packed manually.
The Fresh Food Weigher range overcomes the sticking of meat, fish, cooked pasta, salad and cooked vegetables to contact parts, which has prevented their handling by automatic weighers, resulting in labour costs and product waste.
Linear belt feeders and non-stick hoppers with scraper gates have been developed to avoid the product sticking and provide a smooth and consistent product flow. The computer selects the combination of hoppers that most closely match the target weight; these hoppers then release their contents into a bag, tray or jar. Booster hoppers enable greater accuracy and operating speeds of up to 70 weightments/min.
The Fresh Food Weighers can handle products that previously required up to five operators.
