French winery Château has invested in Sacmi’s new LVS360 inspection system, as part of its efforts to achieve quality control targets.

Earlier, Sacmi  supplied the French winery with a labeler, and the company now installed the inspection system directly on the line.

The new inspection system will be used to carry out ultra-precise control of proper label positioning and orientation.

Sacmi’s system will help to detect any type of defect ranging from macro errors, including presence-absence, incorrect or mixed applications, to minute faults such as small creases, bubbles, colour variations or printing errors.

For better quality control, the LVS360 stand-alone inspection unit is designed to operate downstream from the labeler.

The LVS360 inspection system features image acquisition units, which can offer resolutions of up to 5 megapixels, helping to minimize false rejects.

The producers can also use the system for real-time checks on the applied label type, and helps to match real-time between applied labels and specific production lots, allowing to reduce the risk of incorrect or mixed-up application.

Sacmi’s new system, which is equipped with advanced hardware and software, can reconstruct a 2D version of the 3D image captured by the cameras.

Through correcting any perspective-linked distortion, the system enables user to identify even the smallest deviation from the label parameter settings.

The advanced CVS3000 inspection software will help real-time monitoring of line performance through any device connected to the company network.

Sacmi’s system also offers statistical reports on line operation, which will help customer to enhance plant production performance.

In addition, the system features optional modules to read and check sensitive data on the applied label.

In January this year, Sacmi entered into a cooperation agreement with Robopac to strengthen its technological capabilities in the end-of-line field.

Robopac will support Sacmi to advance its end-of-line automation and logistics operations in various industries, including beverage, tissue, food, home and personal care sectors.
