Amcor Flexibles Schüpbach has won an award from FEDES – the European Federation for the Flexibles Industry – for what is claimed to be Europe’s first foil-free retortable stickpack.
The FEDES Star awards recognize innovative new packs in any flexible material or combination of materials that are particularly successful in meeting the logical requirements of both the market and the legislator. AF Schüpbach, of Burgdorf, Switzerland, won in the category for combinations of materials, illustrating technological developments and clever new ideas for consumer convenience.
Its packs are made from Amcor’s HeatFlex laminate, for products such as the Ambrosia Splat custard snack from Bestfoods. The three-side seal sachets are made from a laminate of barrier coated polyester/biaxially oriented nylon/cast PP, with the polyester web reverse printed in gravure.
