First CDI Advance in the UK

Esko-Graphics has supplied the first CDI Advance computer-to-plate system with sleeve option in the UK to label repro specialist York Reprographic’s new greenfield site in Stockport.

Senior partner Mark Gration comments: “We chose the Advance because it operates at four metres an hour, which is twice as fast as our CDI TwinBeam in York. In a very high volume operation like ours, speed makes a big difference.”

The company recently installed BackStage, Esko-Graphics’ Windows 2000 based digital workflow, which replaces a VMS based workflow.

“It’s ideal for our type of work where we have ranges of similar labels,” he explains. “In the three months since we installed it, we’ve seen a three-fold increase in productivity and I’m sure this will increase even further as we introduce new features.”
