The European Aluminium Foil Association has announced the closing date for this year’s EAFA Packaging Trophy Awards. Entries must be received by October 31, 2002.
This year, the conditions of entry have been opened up to minimize the chance that good examples of innovative and landmark packs are overlooked. Any pack which is on sale in Europe or produced in Europe can be submitted by anyone, whether foil roller, converter, brand owner, retailer, student or interested member of the public. The brand owner must be aware of and favour the entry.
Pierre Labat, of the EAFA notes: “The feedback from Interpack showed positive trends in the use of alufoil in packaging. Such new, lightweight, high performance, flexible and semi rigid packs are finding favour not just for their technical and environmental benefits: there are also many opportunities for pack designers to exploit the bright metallic surface.”
