The new FastFill60 filler and sealer from Packaging Automation is aimed at the convenience liquid foods processing industry and fulfils three packaging functions in one, which is said to provide significant labour savings.

Utilising an integrated automatic denesting system, pots and trays are removed from the stack and automatically filled and sealed using either a pre-cut or reel fed lid. A closed loop monitoring system linked to a checkweigher provides feedback to the machine’s PLC and fill volume is automatically adjusted as required.

The company says one of the biggest selling features is expected to be the highly flexible pot handling and changeover facility, which allows a wide range of different pack sizes to be quickly accommodated. Filling at speeds up to 60 units/min it can handle pots/trays up to 130mm in diameter x 140mm deep and can fill up to 1000ml.

The stainless steel construction is said to be easy to clean and compatible with most existing CIP facilities, while an optional modified atmosphere packaging facility allows shelf-life to be extended where required.

As with all of Packaging Automation’s equipment, the FastFill60 is available for hire as well as sale.
