Food packaging supplier Faerch has introduced a new fully circular packaging solution, dubbed Evolve by Faerch, for the customers in the foodservice market.

Part of the existing Plaza range, the new Evolve by Faerch bowls serve as a fully circular alternative to traditional clear PET packaging for food distributors.

The Plaza range is said to serve as a stylish and practical serving solution for salads and pastas.

Available in a range of sizes, the bowls have been designed to improve on-shelf presentation and appeal. They can be stacked for space-efficient storage.

The Evolve by Faerch Plaza bowls vary in colour, thereby helping to reflect the recycled material they are produced from and efficiently communicate the sustainable nature of the bowls to the end-consumer.

Faerch UK and Ireland foodservice sales director David Lucas said: “Evolve by Faerch is designed to close the loop on food packaging and therefore plays a key role in the industry’s transition towards a true circular economy.

“The Evolve by Faerch Plaza bowls are made from recycled household post-consumer material which, after use, can be recycled into new mono-material food packaging without any loss of quality.”

Faerch is already delivering tray to tray recycling on an industrial scale. Its recycling facility in the Netherlands gathers post-consumer trays from collectors, sorters and recycle them back into food grade mono-material multiple times, said the company.

At the starting of this month, Faerch agreed to acquire Germany-based Paccor Packaging, which offers a range of advanced packaging solutions for customers in the food industry.
