EyeC said manufacturers are increasing the quality controls measures owing to the strict regulations on cigarette and tobacco packaging and ensuring the quality and conformity of health warnings would be the main challenge.

The company claims that their inspection systems help the manufacturers to perform quality checks easily at each of the production stages and confirm that the cigarette and tobacco packs are fully falling in line with legal requirements.

Health warning inspection tool (HWIT) is one of the key components of the company’s new solution.

The tool enables users to easily create a combined file with all compliant health warnings in less time and use the file serves as a reference for inspections.

The software allows the users to access the Health Warning Document Libraries and enables them to merge and allot health warnings automatically. Health Warning Document Libraries includes health warnings like general warnings, additional warnings, and side information messages.

EyeC Proofiler product manager Oliver Peitzner said: “With the EyeC inspection systems and the EyeC HWIT, tobacco manufacturers can now easily automate their controls and avoid product recalls. They no longer have to perform tedious and complicated manual check of health warnings.”

Peitzner added: “Our first product demonstrations have been a real success. The need of automation and risk reduction has never been so high in the tobacco industry.’

By using the secured reference file and EyeC inspection systems, users can perform a wide-ranging inspection. The EyeC Proofiler Graphic can be used to confirm print files automatically and can be used to control printed samples quickly during and after printing.

All items are automatically detected and complete content of printed samples is inspected by the EyeC systems. Text, graphics, 1D and 2D codes, health warnings and their rotations are checked within in one inspection cycle. Users
