Envision Plastics, a subsidiary of Consolidated Container Company (CCC), has introduced a new bottle developed by using OceanBound plastic.

Envision has produced OceanBound plastic from completely recycled plastic, helping to avoid reaching plastic to risk areas such as beaches and waterways.

OceanBound plastic is a fully traceable and advanced resin, which can be further processed into natural and mixed color.

It can also be processed for use in the firm’s other products such as Prisma and Deodorized resin.

Envision said it is leveraging the capabilities of its global supply chain, technical and manufacturing expertise to deliver oceanbound plastic, which is suitable for multiple HDPE plastic applications

The company is currently using the bottle for packaging Primal Group's ViTA brand of natural and plant science-based personal care products.

Envision Plastics general manager Dan Ferus said: "Envision is proud of the work we are doing by collecting and recycling OceanBound plastic, but we are excited that it was able to displace 100% of the virgin resin in the bottle and colorant.

“We attribute the success to Vita's persistence, Classic Containers' willingness to work outside the box, Techmer's creativity and Envision's high quality standards.

“We hope that this is the first of many and invite all brands to find ways to add Envision's OceanBound Plastic into their products and packaging.”

Founded in 2001, Envision provides resin solutions for the customers in retail, consumer and packaging sectors.

CCC provides rigid plastic packaging solutions for the customers in North America. The firm offers mid and short-run packaging solutions for the dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.
