Envelope efficiency enhanced

In collaboration with a leading envelope machine manufacturer, Schleipen & Erkens has developed a production method said to optimize self adhesive seals and allow the equipment to run at a higher speed on reduced investment costs.

S&E’s new method uses a transfer procedure that no longer involves applying the adhesive directly to the sealing flap, but applies it onto the siliconized release liner. To avoid reticulation issues with ordinary silicone papers, the company has developed a release liner that allows the wet adhesive to wet out evenly.

Many envelope manufacturers are said to have adopted the new method.
