The European Carton Manufacturers Association has expressed its full agreement with an article on e-auctions published recently by the European Aluminium Foil Association in Neue Verpackung, Germany.
“Long in favour of e-commerce, and contributing in a ‘strategic partnership’ context seriously to e-improvements in the supply chain, we share the concerns regarding the e-auction procedure,” says the ECMA. “The article ‘Wild West on the internet’ explains in a balanced way some of the major objections against on-screen negotiations. Additionally, ECMA considers cartons as being ‘product related’ and not adapted for e-auctioning.”
