The new single-pass, direct-to-board PageWide C500 press is planned to be installed at the firm’s manufacturing facility in Orlando, Florida in this summer.

Dusobox said, the press, which features HP’s Thermal Inkjet technology, will be the first of its kind in the US.

The press will be used by Dusobox to offer offset print quality with maximum flexibility and simplicity to its clients.

The single-pass, combined with HPs’ accurate media motion and robust hold of industry grade boards for smooth production flow using HPs’ corrugated grip, is expected to deliver high quality digital prints.

Dusobox president John Kelley said: “This high-volume capacity combined with digital efficiency further establishes an unprecedented speed-to-market in the corrugated industry.

“We continue to challenge and surpass the standard six-week delivery to now, under two weeks. It’s one of the ways we have earned our esteemed level of 98% customer satisfaction.”

Additionally, Dusobox plans to use the PageWide C500 press to print a wide application ranges, including nutritional products, health and beauty, and a vast range of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sold through national and regional retailers.

Among these new digitally addressable applications is food and beverage packaging, both primary and secondary.

For food packaging, the PageWide C500 press supports food safety as it used HP CV150 water-based CMYK Inks and water-based HP Bonding Agents.

These fluids said to be suitable for both coated and uncoated media and contain no UV-reactive chemistries and require no additional barriers.

Dusobox said its new PageWide C500 Press is representative of its digital growth and continued investment in HP digital press solutions.

The investment follows only two years after the purchase of HP Scitex 15500 Corrugated Press for short-run retail packaging and displays.
