Slitting and rewinding equipment machinery producer Dusenbery is no longer to manufacture machinery in Europe. President of Dusenbery Worldwide Orest Lebed, in a statement made to Converting Today as it went to press said: “Due to the economic conditions facing all machinery manufacturers in Europe, a voluntary liquidation was elected by the Dusenbery Europe shareholders.” The company was put into liquidation on November 1 and a creditors’ meeting held on November 12.

He continued: “As a result, all worldwide sales, service and technical support of the Dusenbery Europe equipment will be handled through our Randolph, New Jersey, USA, corporate headquarters. We will have one manufacturing facility located in Randolph, allowing us to maximize efficiencies and streamline costs, thereby creating savings which can be passed on to our worldwide customers. Dusenbery Worldwide will continue to provide the highest level of service that our worldwide customers have come to expect from the Dusenbery organization.”

The closure follows a change of policy reported in Converting Today July/August 2002, when Orest Lebed announced that the names of John Dusenbery (USA) and Bedford based Dusenbery Europe (UK) were to disappear and become known as Dusenbery Worldwide, in a bid to market the different technologies previously developed on one or other side of the Atlantic on a global basis. The European company had been especially associated with specialist thermal transfer ribbon (TTR) type slitters.

Dusenbery Europe liquidator is B D O Stoy Hayward, of 8 Baker Street, London W1U 3LL. The Dusenbery website is www.dusenbery.com
