Due South has invested in the WaveGrip’s G1 multi-packing applicator to improve the multi-packing of its 16oz cans in both 4 and 6-pack configurations, helping to meet the increasing demand from customers for its beers.

With compact footprint of 55 x 31.5, the G1applicator supports the mobile canning operations, in addition to meeting the requirements of small and medium sized brewers.

The G1 applicator is said to operate at 35 cans per minute (cpm), enabling to meet the current production requirements of the canning line.

WaveGrip’s G1 multi-packing applicator holds capacity to run at speeds of 100cpm, providing flexibility for the brewery to expand the volume of year-round and limited-edition beers.

Due South Brewing founder and head brewer Mike Halker said: “Once we installed the G1 our packaging ran much smoother and it saved us a lot of labor at the end of the line. The difference is incredible!

“Above all, the biggest selling point of WaveGrip is their support. They’ve come to our facility a number of times to work with us and to make sure the machine is working as it should. I couldn’t have asked for better service.”

WaveGrip also noted that its carriers are 100% recyclable and meet current US packaging regulations by being photodegradable.

WaveGrip managing director Aaron McIvor said: We’ve worked hard to design the G1 applicator to be the perfect fit for every craft brewery. Our ability to provide a sustainable, cost-effective multi-pack solution that has truly delivered for Due South is the perfect accolade for WaveGrip.”

Situated outside of West Palm Beach, Due South is claimed to be the first full production craft brewery in South Florida. It currently operates a 27,000ft² brewery and taproom.

With five core brands, the brewery produces around 5,000 barrels per year, which is supplied to bars, restaurants and retail locations across Florida.
