Can gauging equipment manufacturer TMS Technology has developed an in-line inspection machine for can makers that now incorporates both a can identification camera system and trimmed can dimensional measuring station.
The camera system uses character recognition software to identify the body maker source using the embossed characters at the base of the can. These enable the inspection machine to provide measured results for each individual body maker and minimise any corrective actions required, says the company.
