Prize Pack 2020 is an annual competition for innovative FMCG packaging designs hold during the International Food and Drink Trade Fair in Bulgaria, which this year took place on November the 4th. DS smith was awarded as absolute winner for innovative and sustainable FMCG packaging designs.
Prize Pack 2020 is an annual competition for innovative FMCG packaging designs hold during the International Food and Drink Trade Fair in Bulgaria, which this year took place on November the 4th. DS smith was awarded as absolute winner for innovative and sustainable FMCG packaging designs.
Four out of five presented DS Smith designs hit the criteria of innovation, sustainability, functionality, convenience and risk management through the whole supply chain.
The design packaging solutions presented by DS Smith focus on plastic replacement solutions such as the eco-packaging for fresh eggs, or the eco-crate for fresh oranges. Both solutions provide the possibility to customize it by adding unique design to catch the consumers’ attention. These innovative designs make the packaging easy to assembly, use and recycle.
The two other winning designs, which also aim to replace plastic, focus on handling solutions for bottles and dairy products (yoghurt). They give the possibility to customize it with strong brand positioning through matching the concept of the primary pack and the handler. They are ready to shelve in retails and provide an excellent product protection during storage and transport.
