Union County and the City of Monroe have approved economic development incentives for the expansion of an existing manufacturing facility for Darnel, Inc. These inducements were necessary to secure the company’s investment in The City of Monroe and Union County, North Carolina.

Darnel’s decision to expand its facility in Monroe will generate a capital investment of approximately $16,000,000 over the next five years that will include the construction of a 60,000 SF warehouse and the purchase and installation of state-of-the-art production equipment. These investments will enable the company to meet significant increases in demand for their current products as well as introduce new offerings to its customers across North America. Also, approximately 20 new jobs will be created in Monroe and Union County, NC over the initial investment period.

“Darnel is pleased to have received this vital support by both the City of Monroe and Union County,” stated Phil Jones, President-North America of Darnel, Inc. “This expansion will allow us to increase our workforce, providing many career opportunities for this community; while increasing our manufacturing capacity and the portfolio of products we deliver to our North American customers.”
