Canadian digital health company CuePath Innovation has introduced its second-generation suite of medication adherence monitoring products for remote patient care.

CuePath’s Generation II CueStickers feature various improvements, including integration of an IoT device into the CueSticker, integrated diagnostic, enhanced durability and sensor accuracy.

As part of the critical care initiative, CuePath is initially offering the second-generation blister packaging solution to Wellness Pharmacy Group to deliver medication monitoring and adherence support for patients with complex regimens.

The initiative is aimed at maintaining optimal medication adherence for patients with complex medical conditions, including renal and transplant patients.

Wellness Pharmacy Group principal Zahid Merali said: “CuePath’s Generation II CueSticker was simple and easy for us to integrate into the dispensing process for our complex care patients.

“It provides our customers with a better experience because they really feel like we are looking after them, that our service helps them to feel more in control of their treatment or recovery experience.”

CuePath’s medication adherence monitoring is a virtual service, which delivers insights into patients’ medication-taking trends to pharmacists and healthcare professionals.

The company’s medication monitoring system is said to help Wellness Pharmacies to determine the critical care patients that have missed scheduled doses of medication and require timely support.

CueSticker product from CuePath will be applied to a blister card during the pharmacy’s medication dispensing process to facilitate enable real-time adherence monitoring and collection of insightful patient data.

The product can be used with multi-dose blister cards from different manufacturers, including Jones Healthcare and Dispill.

CuePath CEO Ken Piaggio said: “As we have heard from their pharmacists, the CuePath product allows the pharmacy greater insight into which vulnerable patients may require extra care and attention to ensure they are taking their medications as prescribed.”
