To provide a higher profile for paper converting and packaging production, Ipex 2006 has changed its halls layout. Originally located in Hall 5, these functions have now been transferred to Halls 1, 2 and 3 as part of an integrated post-press area.

Exhibition director Trevor Crawford explains: “As the lines between post-press and converting are becoming increasingly blurred, we’ve been working closely with exhibitors to find the best solution in terms of location. The decision to move to Halls 1, 2 and 3 will also benefit visitors by providing them with an end-to-end representation of the print and packaging industry in a single area.”

The Halls will showcase the complete packaging workflow, with flexo printing, die cutting, folding and gluing, corrugated and board conversion, inspection and accessories – all in one zone. More than 20,000m2 of space is available and 61 per cent of this has already been reserved by names such as Bobst, Bielomatic, Ashe Converting, K├Ârber Paperlink and Winkler & Dunnebier, says show organizer IIR.

Ipex 2006 will run from April 4 -11, at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.
