UPM PM 2 production manager Zhou Long said: “We have been using the previous generation Valmet online freeness analyzer on PM 2 for ten years.

“With technological upgrading and innovation, we again selected the latest Valmet Pulp Analyzer for its fast and precise online fiber and furnish measurement to improve runnability and productivity.”

Valmet plans to complete the installation of pulp analyzer and commence operations in the third quarter of this year.

The pulp analyzer offers paper, board and tissue makers with quick and accurate online updates of key fiber and papermaking furnish properties.

The analyzer, which provides advanced online fiber analysis, is an alternative to infrequent and time-delayed laboratory tests and enables to manage furnish properties for better paper and improved production.

Valmet China senior automation sales manager Jackson Sui said: “Valmet MAP will be the ideal tool at PM 2 for furnish management, screening, blending and improving refining operations while providing energy savings as well.”

Valmet provides process technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries. Its technology product portfolio includes pulp mills, tissue, board and paper production lines.

In May this year, Valmet was selected to supply a high-speed containerboard making line for an undisclosed customer in Zhejiang province, China.

The purchase of the new board production line is a part the customer’s aim to increase its capacity and market share.

Planned to be commissioned at the customer’s undisclosed facility by the end of 2019, the board production line will have capacity to produce high-quality recycled fluting grades with the basis weight range of 60-40 g/m2.
