India-based Concord Printing has installed Bobst Expertfold 110 A2 folder-gluer with a corrugation kit at its new printing and packaging plant in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Located in Vadodara’s Halol industrial area, the new 125,000ft2 facility is now under the first phase of construction.

Upon the commencement of operations, the new facility is expected to increase Concord’s monthly capacity by over 50% to more than 300 tonnes of paper and paperboard with Bobst’s new gluer playing an important role.

By combining consistency with quality to increase productivity, the new folder-gluer will allow Concord Printing to produce a range of box styles.

Bobst’s new A2 model is said to join Concord’s other corrugation machines for die-cutting, hot foil stamping and window patching.

Concord installed a Bobst Visionfold 110 folder-gluer in 2015 and Bobst Novacut 106 die-cutter in 2017 at its city facility.

Bobst Visionfold allowed the company to meet the increased demand for packaging, specifically in the food and pharma sectors.

Concord Printing director Arshad Memon said: “Whenever we find a bottleneck in our process, we think that’s the right time to add a new kit.

“That being said, we do increase the hours on the machine first, but if the bottleneck persists and is around 35% to 40%, opting for an additional machine is the best decision. So that’s what we did.”

Founded in 1968, Concord Printing is engaged in the manufacturing of packaging, promotional and print design material for domestic and international clients across FMCG, real estate, pharmaceutical and other sectors.

In February this year, India-based Ajanta Print Arts also purchased a new Visionfold 110 A2 folder-gluer from Bobst to boost its production capabilities.
