International packaging and paper group Mondi has unveiled a new flat bottom bag, which is produced in Steinfeld, Germany.

The new bag with specially shaped base has been jointly developed by Mondi, Tetra and Presto Slide-Rite. It is suitable for lightweight contents and is available with different closures such as top zip and hook-&-loop closure or a top slider.

Mondi noted that the flat bottom bag, which is an addition to the company’s FlexZiBox portfolio, has been produced with a reliable reclosure system, the hooded top slider, for its customer Tetra.

The bag can be used for different dry goods such as cereals, rice, coffee, tea or sugar, and is also suitable for dry cat, dog, fish or bird food.

Available in various different materials such as PET/PE, PET/PETmet/PE or OPP/PE, the bag can be manufactured in sizes ranging from 400g to 5kg.

The bag is said to offer better filling behavior on all conventional filling machines, along with optimal transportation and storage characteristics.

Mondi Steinfeld plant manager Alfons Kruse said the bag is an attractive solution, which helps branded goods put their best foot forward and appeal to the end consumer immediately at the POS.

"The flat bottom bag is the perfect combination of product presentation and key benefits such as unique stability, optimum handling and product safety," Kruse added.
