US-based Mariani Packing Company has introduced TouchLock, a velcro-like micro-hook closure system with re-sealable zipper for fruit bags.
Mariani said TouchLock allows consumers to simply touch to lock and close their dried fruit bag and the feature has been introduced on all stand-up gusseted packaging.
With efforts towards continuous improvement, the new TouchLock packaging provides an easier resealing solution for consumers.
Mariani VP sales and marketing Joe Flannigan said consumers frustration with traditional re-sealable zippers has resulted in the new closure system that need not be perfectly aligned to seal properly.
TouchLock’s micro-hook, self-gripping fastener firmly seals the package and maintains product freshness. The material is a food grade, heat-sealable polyethylene.
Aplix, the manufacturer of the micro-hook closure system, has granted Mariani US exclusivity on usage for an undisclosed period of time.
