Crown Holding’s business unit Crown Aerosols and Speciality Packaging has announced the relocation of its Liverpool speciality packaging operations to a new facility in Trinity Park.

Crown's plant

The new facility, which has been designed to serve customers across Europe, has the capacity to produce both drum-shaped and rectangular packaging in a range of sizes.

According to the company, the facility features an optimized line layout that increases operation efficiencies and allows it to operate under environmentally-friendly conditions. It also includes a four-color printing line which allows for coating and printing processes to take place on-site.

Crown Aerosols and Speciality Packaging Europe vice president David Harrison said the company’s new Liverpool plant offers a complete range of packaging options that combine the functionality and economies of scale needed for its customers.

"The facility is testament to the company’s global commitment to supporting the local economies in which it operates," Harrison added.

The plant is claimed to be accredited by the British Retail Consortium Global Standards and its modernized equipment will allow the team to produce food-grade containers.

Recently, Crown collaborated with a Spanish company Casa de Alba to develop a new 500ml tin featuring a series of elegant designs that are currently produced at the Liverpool site.

"Moving to a brand new factory enables Crown to continue to offer brands throughout Europe numerous possibilities to safely package their products while lending them a premium look with extraordinary shapes, sophisticated finishes and convenient solutions," Harrison concluded.
