London-based Brownell has developed a moisture-adsorbing polymer that can be tailor shaped and fixed as an alternative to conventional desiccant bags and panel mounted desiccators in preventing condensation within products and packaging.
The board is ideal for limited applications and can be easily cut, formed, punched, shaped and thermo-formed, or may be supplied in a standard 200 x 200mm board size to meet user requirements.
The board is not water soluble and ensures a high level of clean drying in a variety of products, from electronics, machinery, optics and instruments to pharmaceuticals and food, says Engineeringtalk.
Uniform in thickness and easy to pack, the board is non-corrosive and non-deliquescent and provides a printable surface. This humidity-adsorbing board helps ensure maximum space occupancy in the production process by allowing complex shaping, pliability and mechanical fixing.
