Global independent design agency Blue Marlin has created retro-style packaging for a microwaveable version of Pukka Pies.

Blue Marlin’s retro-style packaging and graphics are intended to stay true to the Pukka brand, by way of clearly differentiating it from existing core products and communicating key benefits clearly to consumers.

Pukka has overcome the traditional problems with microwaving pastry with a short-crust pie that is said to taste oven-baked and is crisp and crumbly after cooking for three and a half minutes, reports PackagingNews.

The three-and-a-half-minute pie proposition was developed to tackle people’s poor expectations of microwaveable food head on.

The microwaveable pie will be available in steak and chicken varieties and it goes on sale soon.
