Serialization and track & trace solutions provider Adents is offering improved carton coding & inspection system via Omega Design’s remote integration program.

Omega's program is being used to offer Intelli-Code Carton Coding & Inspection System to print unit-level data on individual cartons through thermal ink jet or laser printing.

The remote integration program is a software-agnostic platform that allows its machines to be preconfigured for easy installation and deployment on an expedited basis to any and all end-users.

The Intelli-Code uses an integrated vision system to verify printed data and serialization data management system connectivity. The machine can be integrated into new or existing carton lines or can be deployed as an independent serialization cell.

The machines sold by Adents can be operated using its fully configurable and standardized serialization software Adents Seriza. This is a centralized configuration tool which is claimed to provide unprecedented levels of flexibility and scalability for pharmaceutical manufacturers and packagers.  It offers benefits such as speed of deployment and ease of integration.

Adents CEO Christophe Devins said: “The combined expertise of our companies – Omega’s material handling and controls integration expertise plus Adents’ exemplary software-based solutions – creates an unsurpassed system for unit-level carton serialization.”

Intelli-Code from Omega Design supports a range of customer choices on printing technologies, cameras and inspection vision systems. The module has been standardized to include several common specifications of top 10 pharmaceutical companies including multiple user security levels and NFPA 70e split voltage enclosures. The use of fail-safe programming logic ensures only cartons that pass inspection continue down the packaging line.

It features Human Machine Interface (HMI) touch screens where one monitor is dedicated to the serialization system, while the other screen manages machine automation controls.

It ensures carton spacing via two variable speed conveyors. Its reject system directs all out-of-spec products to a reject bin and allows only verified units to pass.

Omega Design president Glenn Siegele said: “We’re proud that Adents chose Intelli-Code to offer its pharmaceutical customers a track & trace solution combining our versatile, high-performance machine with its flexible, scalable software.

“It’s a terrific example of what Omega Design’s Remote Integration Program can achieve.”
