LiquiGlide, the inventor of a breakthrough technology that removes friction between solids and liquids, announced that Colgate will use LiquiGlide’s EveryDrop technology to launch Colgate Elixir in Canada.

The new recyclable toothpaste package will be easy to see how much product is left, easy to dispense and recycle.

LiquiGlide said that the package won the “Best in Show” and “Design Excellence” AmeriStar awards from the Institute of Packaging Professionals for its innovative packaging made with a slippery coating that allows the liquid to be dispensed easily and completely.

Colgate Elixir will be available for consumers in Canada in winter this year.

Colgate-Palmolive packaging innovation worldwide director Liz Mellone said: “Colgate Elixir is toothpaste reimagined-breathtaking design in a unique packaging technology that is recyclable and designed to let people enjoy the toothpaste to the last drop.”

Colgate is planning to launch a new product equipped with LiquiGlide’s EveryDrop technology in Sam’s Club in the US.

LiquiGlide co-founder and CEO Dave Smith said: “With increasing consumer demand for sustainable packaging, we are excited to partner with industry leaders like Colgate to create packaging that is better for consumers, the planet, and business.”

In June last year, Colgate Elixir was launched in Europe with an Elixir line of three toothpaste formulas.

LiquiGlide co-founder and chairman Kripa Varanasi said: “It has been gratifying to see the European market’s positive response to Elixir.

“Our vision is for EveryDrop Technology to create new standards for sustainability and user experience in consumer packaging around the world.

“Colgate’s decision to build on the success of Elixir and expand into North America is an important step toward realising that vision.”

In August last year, LiquiGlide announced the launch of zero-waste packaging for the health and beauty industry.
