Cartiera del Chiese, of Montichiari, Italy, has commissioned a Valmet Rotomec extruder. The 2,700mm width machine extrusion coats LDPE, PP, HDPE, Surlyn and EVA onto paper. It is equipped with shaftless unwinders and rewinder for automatic splicing, and has the capability to print two flexo colours in-line.
The Montichiari facility is now equipped with three extrusion lines supplied by Valmet Rotomec. They produce various combinations of PE or PP coated paper and board, used in the manufacture of large industrial bags and sacks, as well as shopping bags and insulating materials. Fifty per cent of the production is for the domestic market, with the remainder mainly being exported to other European countries.
