With the new facilities, the company has completed its investment in China’s additives business, which will help to further expand its offering of customized and high-end solutions for the plastics, coatings and ink industries.

The new facilities engage in the production of Ceridust micronized waxes and AddWorks synergistic additive solutions, which are used in several applications across the plastics, coatings and ink industries.

Clariant said the additional local production capacity will enable the company to provide more tailored solutions at shortened lead times.

The facilities also help to produce environmentally compatible and safe products, as per the China’s 13th five year plan and the industrial policy ‘Made in China 2025 ‘, helping the company to differentiate itself in the market environment.

Clariant executive committee member Christian Kohlpaintner said: “This completed investment in the Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone marks another milestone in our commitment to expand capability and capacity in China, one of the most important strategic markets for Clariant.

“We are pursuing a dedicated strategy aimed at increasing and sharpening the focus on China. I am proud to see this being executed successfully and am excited about its benefits going forward.”

In May this year, Clariant introduced new Humitector type 2 non-reversible humidity indicator cards for SMD dry packing.

The new humidity indicator cards have been developed to maintain the integrity of dry packing, which protects moisture-sensitive devices during shipment or storage.

Humitector type 2 non-reversible humidity indicator cards contain low-halogen and free from cobalt dichloride, a substance of concern to the European Chemical Bureau.

Humitector cards are said to be the only low-halogen cobalt dichloride-free humidity indicator cards to combine multiple and reversible color humidity indicators with a patent-pending and non-reversible 60% humidity indicator.
