KBA has launched a sheet-fed flexo press for the corrugated container market. The Corrugraph has a top speed of 10,000 sheets/hour and can print and in-line die cut corrugated board from E-flute to AC-fluted double wall. The standard sheet length is 1,676mm.
The machine is a high board line press housed in a fixed frame, open architecture design. All rotating axes are servo controlled. With full vacuum transport throughout, minimum separation between units is 1,727mm, ensuring the substrate is never in two print nips at the same time. These features are said to assure maximum registration control, additional dwell time to facilitate drying and enough space to accommodate more dryers.
The first Corrugraph production model – a six colour, 1,676 x 3,000mm machine – will be shipped this autumn to Canadian box maker Central Graphics & Container Group, in Mississauga.
