Recyclable aluminium packaging manufacturer CCL Container has introduced a new aluminium wine bottle that resembles its shape with classic burgundy.

The product is based on the design of a conventional wine bottle and intends to match the demand for sustainability and freshness.

CCL Container has designed the 750ml aluminium bottle using its BodyShapes shaping technology. The bottle is resealable with a threaded cap, which will ensure extended freshness in comparison to a traditional wine bottle.

The company claims that aluminium bottles cool rapidly and maintain their cold for a longer time due to high thermal conductivity and chill retention than glass and plastic.

The entire product is made from virgin aluminium, which is 100% recyclable.

The bottles are claimed to be lighter, durable and less expensive to ship which make the bottles virtually unbreakable.

CCL Container sales vice president Kimberly Kizer said: “The wine industry is steeped in tradition that dates back thousands of years, yet many brands and wine drinkers are clamouring for innovation.

“The new, burgundy-shaped aluminium wine bottle provides the best of all worlds in terms of quality, freshness, sustainability, and unique branding opportunities.”

CCL Containers has made the aluminium bottle different from other wine brands with the help of multi-colour lithography up to nine colours, embossing and debossing of graphics and logos and a variety of other finishes.

In November 2020, the company invested C$35m in a sustainable film project to boost plastic recycling in Europe.
