The new 2.5m wide corrugator from BHS Corrugated is capable of rapid production speed of 300m / min
UK-based corrugated cardboard packaging manufacturer CBS Packaging Group has invested in 2.5m wide corrugator from BHS Corrugated.
The corrugator has been installed at CBS Packaging’s plant in Birmingham by replacing its previous 2.2m BHS corrugator.
CBS Packaging managing director Jitha Singh said: “The successful start-up of this new corrugator marks the next phase in the exciting development and growth of our family business.
“The machine will add new flute profiles and combinations to our market offering whilst significantly increasing productivity potential, quality and efficiency across our business.”

CBS Packaging also invested in additional amenities to enhance the productivity of machine such as waste management, uplifting and fully automated corrugated sheet stacking.
The firm said that the new corrugator is capable of rapid production speed of 300m / min. The new corrugator allows CBS Packaging to produce board fluting; B, C, BC, E, EB, R.
Singh added: “The improvements seen in board quality have resulted in an uplift in our converting output, our customers have reacted very positively and we are already seeing significant reductions in waste compared to our previous machine.
“The crew have taken to the machine well, we are already producing more than the old corrugator and are excited about the months ahead as we look forward to offering new products to existing and new customers.”
In 2016, packaging machinery supplier Bobst and BHS Corrugated won a contract from Mexican paper and packaging manufacturer Grupo Gondi to supply and install 11 new production lines.
The scope of the contract includes the purchase of two BHS Corrugated-designed complete wide corrugators, a Bobst pre-print press line, high accuracy flat-bed Bobst die-cutters, and five automated Bobst folding and gluing lines.
BHS Corrugated develops and produces corrugating rolls, corrugators and individual machines. Its customers produce corrugated board for industries such as the food, automotive and consumer goods industries, as well as for shipping and packaging companies.
