Cargill has invested more than $10 in the edible oil bottling line, which was installed at the facility located in Sidney, Ohio.

The advanced bottling technology holds capacity to help increase annual output by 75% compared to earlier lines.

Cargill said the new bottling line will allow the company and its customers to achieve sustainability commitments by reducing packaging material waste and use fully recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic.

The bottling line is provided with smart technology to evaluate packaging elements and fill heights, enabling to decrease material loss and enhance efficiency.

The new bottling solution will help the company to establish a new standard in edible oils bottling and sustainability, said Cargill.

Ohio crush and refinery is the largest volume production facility of its kind in the firm’s network.

The company is also planning to expand the new technology by installing two additional lines later this year.

With the addition of new capabilities, Cargill is advancing its packaging technology to support future growth and meet the growing needs of customers.

Cargill global edible oils business North American commercial leader Ethan Theis said: “This investment is about raising the standard and doing what’s right for our customers.

“By leveraging this unique technology, we’re taking deliberate steps to operate in a more efficient, sustainable way.”
