C-P Flexible Packaging, a portfolio company of First Atlantic Capital, has acquired US-based Bass Flexible Packaging for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Lakeville, Minnesota, Bass Flexible Packaging produces various stand-up pouches, premade bags, and shrink sleeves.

The company has developed a customer-centric service model that is assisted by modern assets and systems to meet short lead times for a range of order quantities.

Bass Flexible Packaging co-owner Andrew Shaffer said: “We believe our business is in excellent hands with C-P Flexible and that the combined resources of the two companies will only strengthen the opportunities for both employees and customers.”

The acquisition of Bass Flexible Packaging will allow C-P to expand its presence in the confectionery, and health and beauty markets, as well as add advanced short run and short lead time capabilities.

Bass Flexible Packaging is also said to complement C-P’s advanced converting capabilities.

At present, C-P’s North American footprint includes 11 locations with more than 1,000 employees.

C-P Flexible Packaging CEO Mike Hoffman said: “The Shaffers have developed one of the most agile service models in the industry at Bass, with precision focus on the market’s need for short lead times and run lengths.

“Combining this unique strength with their high-growth end markets complements C-P’s strategic initiatives in these areas. We are excited to welcome the Bass family to our team!”

Established in 1958, C-P Flexible Packaging offers several flexible packaging formats, including HD printed rollstock, premade pouches, shrink sleeves, stretch sleeves, poly bags, roll-fed labels, reclose, cold-seal, cleanroom products, thermoformed trays and recyclable flexible packaging.

In October last year, C-P acquired US-based privately held Sycamore Sales, doing business as Preferred Packaging, for an undisclosed sum.
