Btab Group, a provider of social commerce and e-commerce solutions, has decided to use biodegradable and recycled packaging materials for e-commerce fulfilment applications.

The sustainable packaging has been developed using in-house manufactured bioplastic, which utilises renewable feedstock.

The company is also focusing on the development of advanced biodegradable packaging, which can be integrated into existing recycling systems.

Btab’s bioplastic can be used in multiple different consumer products, in addition to packaging, medical devices and agriculture applications.

Btab is also pushing manufacturers and suppliers within its network to use recyclable and biodegradable solutions.

Btab Group CEO Binson Lau said: “We believe everyone plays an important role in making the changes needed to protect our environment. The government in many countries has already started to ban single-use plastics, an important step to curb pollution and environmental issues.

“Now, Btab is taking the lead by making a positive change. Upgrading our packaging materials to biodegradable and recyclable alternatives is a huge contribution to our planet, and will improve the environment we all live in.”

According to Trivium & Boston Consulting Group, 67% of consumers are considering recyclable packaging an important component of the products they purchase.

Btab Network consists of four components, including e-commerce services, social marketplaces, domain names management and online marketing.
