Senntech’s new PW 300 low cost slitter will run core or coreless from 1-3in with a maximum width of 80in and OD of 11.8in. All the operator has to do is to load the material. The roll is then ejected automatically to the collecting table or packaging line. An automatic core loader can be added when higher productivity is needed.

Thermal transfer ribbons supplier Iimak has installed three custom designed automatic slitters at its Belgian production facility. The proprietary design is said to give better tension controls than standard slitters, plus the ability to easily switch the front end to handle the large variety of ribbon configurations offered by Iimak.

Montreal based Graphic Finishers has ordered a Valmet TSK twin synchronous knife sheeter to process a wide range of board products. The machine will have a maximum web width of 1,450mm and the capacity to cut sheets from 400-1,500mm, to within 0.5mm, at up to 300m/min. Valmet Rotomec has received an order for a 10 colour 4000-2 ES gravure press from Bak Ambalaj, Turkey. It will be used to print PE film.

The first ALS 700 NTA automatic roll slitter has been delivered to a major foam tape converter in Scandinavia. It is 2.1m wide and has a capacity of 700mm diameter. Slitting at 700mm diameter requires an 800mm diameter blade weighing approximately 30kg. ALS developed a loading device for the safe handling of these large, heavy blades when they are changed.

Arrowhive Equipment has upgraded a Padane flexo press at a UK flexible packaging plant with Montalvo web control equipment. The one metre wide machine is handling a variety of filmic substrates and required a more responsive tension control system. Arrowhive supplied two Montalvo X-3000ce controllers for unwind and rewind, CD-Series pneumatic friction brakes, and loadcells.
