Amcor PET Packaging’s new Bind-Ox+ barrier technology is a further development of its Bind-Ox oxygen scavenging system for non-carbonated beverages.
Bind-Ox+ gives additional protection against delamination, ensuring a quality appearance alongside barrier protection.
An extra co-injection step affords improved adhesion, reducing the likelihood of containers delaminating and adversely affecting bottle aesthetics. Amcor says this, in turn, allows more complex bottle designs and decorations.
Early users include Sangemini, which has selected the technology for its Vita juice drinks.
