Planned to be installed at undisclosed facility, the new machine will be able to manufacture side gusset, flat, Stand-Up Pouches and B&G’s Plastic Free Earthpouchs.

The new machines will feature the latest technologies available in pouch making including laser guidance, auto tack hole registration, double cut, and ultrasonic crush technology, among others.

B&G Products director Peter Ralten said: “B&G is at the forefront of innovation, investing in technology and people for continuous improvement. Our new Pouch Line was chosen for its ability to produce our Certified Ovenable Stand Up Pouch, Plastic Free Earthpouch and expand our product range even further this year.”

The B&G Products’ grease, water, and moisture resistant Earthpouch is made from a special type of paper, which incorporates a 100% plastic free heat-sealable coating.

The material is formed using a pouch manufacturing process to produce the Stand Up Pouches, which can be used for food security for dry and moist food products.

Additionally, Earthpouch is said to be recyclable, repulpable, compostable, and sustainable.

The firm said it has recently purchased a new pouch conversion machinery to boost its production capacity.
