Berry Global Healthcare has unveiled a new bundle solution for child-resistant (CRC) and tamper-evident (TE) packaging for the pharmaceutical and herbal market for syrup and liquid medicines.

The US-based plastic packaging products maker is using its design and technical expertise in the healthcare sector to combine a variety of bottle and closure solutions to meet the varied needs of the market.

The new bundle includes eight closures with tamper-evident and child-resistant features. Berry Healthcare has also included seven variations of 28mm neck PET bottles in sizes ranging from 20ml to 1,000ml and a variety of designs.

To fulfil their specific application and capacity needs, customers can choose the bottle and compatible closure with liners and dosing cups, the packaging firm said.

The package combination is being manufactured in eight Berry facilities in Europe to maintain a speedy and flexible service for businesses of all sizes to help them get products to market.

Berry claimed that some of the bottles and closures are fully tested and certified as being child-resistant to the latest global standards – ISO8317 standard (EU) and 16CFR1700.20 standard (US).

The firm said that manufacturers can select a PET bottle design that satisfies their unique branding or product needs from a range of PET bottle designs available. The bottles are suitable for healthcare supplies because they are practical, safe, and easy to handle for both the end user and during transit.

Additionally, they act as a strong barrier against the entry of oxygen and moisture, preserving the drugs’ potency. The bottles make it possible to see things clearly and make it simple to brand and mark them.

Some bottles can be created using 100% food-grade recycled PET to assist businesses to achieve their environmental goals, the packaging firm added.

According to the company, the new Berry Healthcare bundle was created in response to the rising demand for pharmaceutical plastic bottles, caps, and closures for the over-the-counter (OTC) market, which provides a desirable substitute for glass packaging.

Berry Healthcare senior strategic marketing manager Nadine Khoury said: “We had a very positive reaction from visitors to our stand.

“In particular, the extensive choice of bottles and closures was very appealing as it enables us to provide individual customers with the best option to meet their needs.”
