Aluminium beverage packaging firm Ball Corporation has added two new sizes of its infinitely recyclable Ball Aluminum Cup to offer consumers a full portfolio of sustainable cup options.

The firm has added 9-ounce and 12-ounce aluminium cup sizes to its existing 16-ounce, 20-ounce and 24-ounce cup offerings to meet the growing demands for sustainable cup options.

The Ball Aluminum Cup, which is offered to food service clients, now has a 90% recycled content rate, making it the beverage container in its category with the highest recycled content percentage, the packaging firm claimed.

Already available at some sports and entertainment venues, the 9-ounce and 12-ounce cup sizes are juice, wine, and cocktail-friendly additions to Ball’s 16-ounce, 20-ounce and 24-ounce cup offerings, Ball said.

Customers have the option to serve a wide range of beverages, including beer, cocktails, wine, soda, juice, and more, to consumers in a more sustainable manner due to a full portfolio of sizes.

Ball Corporation president and CEO Dan Fisher said: “It has been inspiring to see continued excitement and growing demand for the Ball Aluminum Cup since we first introduced the product to consumers in 2019.

“As a company, we are relentlessly focused on advancing the circular economy. We believe that the expansion of our innovative aluminium cup will continue to drive meaningful change toward both helping our customers reach their sustainability goals and solving the packaging waste crisis.”

The addition of new sizes is in response to growing customer and consumer preference toward sustainability. The firm has launched new cup sizes in venues across the US, including Ball Arena, Red Rocks Amphitheater, SoFi Stadium, and more to help reduce waste and strengthen recycling.

The beverage packaging company said that aluminium is the most environmentally friendly beverage packaging material since it is infinitely recyclable and economically valuable. The cups can also be easily recycled, just like aluminium cans.
